They showed the ref with audio reviewing the play on the side line and then talking to another ref about it. He points at the crook of his elbow and says, 'he caught it here and slid it down to his hand, that is a catch.' They sounded pretty confident that it was a catch, shifting a ball in your grasp is nothing like a real bobble, and I saw no bobbling anywhere or at any speed (slo-mo or real-time) FWIW, other than the highlights in general, only Ray Lewis gave us the props we were due...the others were a bit annoying.

What is annoying is all of these analysts never read the rule. The section of the rule in question says this:

" A player has the ball long enough to become a runner when, after his second foot is on the ground, he is capable of avoiding or warding off impending contact of an opponent, tucking the ball away, turning up field, or taking additional steps (see 3-2-7-Item 2)."

So Clement only has to be CAPABLE of satisfying ONE of those conditions. If they don't think as the 2nd foot came down he wasn't capable of all of those, they are crazy.

I don't think anybody knows what the rules are. Did you see the Soundfx show on the game? Sterator came over to give the umpire his explanation after the call after he ruled it a catch and it sounded like the umpire would have called it the other way. These guys are clowns.
