Lewis gets a two year extension!

One less place for our guys to go.

So we have six openings:

Giants
Lions
Bears
Cardinals
Colts
Raiders

If Gruden takes the Raiders job, that leaves only five.

Looking hopeful. unsure.gif

Do you really think DeFlip has a chance of returning? Even if he does not get HC, he'll get an OC job.

Well, he is young and probably not as connected as a lot of other potential OC candidates out there.

Fingers crossed....

I'll wager a six pack that Flip is hired by another team.
The Franchise
Schwartz is being interviewed by the Giants. I don't know what we pay him, or what the Giants would offer him, but it would presumably be at least a couple million more per year.

How do coaches weight this - does he want to finish what he started here and win a Super Bowl as DC? Or would even just a mediocre offer as a chance to become a HC again entice him? I would imagine he likes his situation here and doesn't want to leave just yet, but that's me.

There are exactly 32 NFL head coaching jobs. Most coaches would jump at any of them. I have no idea what he'd be looking for as a HC or what anyone would offer so it's difficult to tell whether he'd jump at the chance to be a HC in the NFL again.

It would be a loss for the Eagles for sure but there are other DCs out there. It wouldn't be the end of the world although I'd prefer to see him stay. As the Eagles have success, this is what happens...

As head coach?

Or OC?

I don't think he gets a HC gig.

I think McVay has ushered in a mini era of young, relatively inexperienced HCs. Flip has been a coordinator and is given justified credit for developing Wentz. I think he can get a HC job but will at least be given an OC job but not here. sad.gif

The great Cleveland Browns.
Under DiFilippo’s direction in 2015, Browns QB Josh McCown finished with a 93.3 quarterback rating, the fifth-highest mark in franchise history, while TE Gary Barnidge emerged as a threat in the passing game, setting career highs in receptions (79 - third among NFL tight ends), receiving yards (1,043 - fourth among NFL tight ends) and receiving touchdowns (nine - fourth among NFL tight ends). Before 2015, Barnidge had recorded only 44 catches for 603 yards and three touchdowns in 91 career games.

Damn.

Did not know he already had OC on his resume.

I'd wager with you if it was a HC bet, but I agree with you that he gets an OC job somewhere.

Thanks for the info. sad.gif

He's got a pretty good gig here. If Roseman is creative with Reich's title he can promote Flip to OC and beat market price for the job. Maybe it would work if there are no jobs that Flip really wants, giving him another year or so to pad his resume for a HC job.
