Take that best ever career ERA and your three Cy Youngs back to LA!

Phils up 4-2.

Hoskins worked a nice walk just before to make it possible.

You can't tell me you're not excited about the prospects of this lineup next year:

2B Hernandez
CF Herrera
1B Hoskins
RF Williams
LF Atherr
3B Franco
SS Crawford
C Alfaro

We may not compete, but we'll be entertaining on a nightly basis. Now we just need to get some arms other than Nola.

Think I would keep Galvis and ditch Franco and try to find room for Kingery.

I like JP a lot, but don't think he has the bat to be a corner infielder. I'd keep Galvis as a utility guy.

If we want to make room for Kingery, I think it involves moving Hernandez.

I'd give Franco one more chance to be part of the core. He's still young and cheap. After next year, we can move on and ideally sign Machado or Arenado.

Either way, it's exciting to have options for a solid starting 8.

I am with you except Franco. I have heard the "give him a chance" for 2 years and he just gets worse. The rest looks like the real deal with some serious offense. If they can get a bat at 3rd and keep Galvis as their utility guy they could be scary good.

I certainly can appreciate your stance on Franco. One of the more disappointing athletes I can recall in recent memory.

I guess I just fear his inevitable excellence when we decide to give up on him. He's still young enough to justify another year. Especially because it's not like we will really be able to compete next year. Then I'd be happy to move on if his struggles continue.

But I get it.

What are the chances that they keep Galvis, trade Hernandez and rotate the remaining guys--JP, Galvis, Kingery, Franco. Everyone needs a day off occasionally and it provides some competition for PT. I'm not worried about the lack of pop at 3rd with JP. There is plenty of pop in the lineup. They are building for the future. It is hard to give up on a gold glove middle infielder, especially since he's not a black hole in your lineup.

I agree about Franco. Maybe seeing the success of younger guys with a better approach at the plate will rub off on him. Getting moved down in the lineup should also be a message.

Wait a minute. Haven't you been posting about the Sixers for years?

I'm all for it, but if we limit ourselves to only talking about good Philly sports teams, the conversation will be pretty light.

The opposite for me. Thought it first to be a legitimate thread. Then I read about 6 seconds of the first post and immediately concluded it was Russian spam.

Bwah!

I didn't know you were a Dodgers fan?

Have you divulged this before?

Now that I know, here's my reaction to our Grand Slam:

Shit, I didn't realize it until just now. I thought the Doyers meant he was having a stroke.

Let that keep you warm in October, pal.

yeah, I grew up a Phillies phan. Pete Rose, Tug McGraw, Steve Carleton, Schmidt were my boy-hood heroes. But I've been living in L.A. for 25 years now, and the dodgers are the only local team to have needled their way into my sports lexicon. I'm a devout Laker hater, and couldn't give 2 shits about the Clippers, or any of these NFL newcomers. That said, I am going to see our birds TWICE THIS SEASON, so I appreciate them for that.

All that said, I still didn't fully jump on the dodgers band wagon until JRoll and Chase came out here.
