–Last season, Carson Wentz finished 28th in the NFL in third-down passing. Had a 67.0 rating, completed just 55.8 percent of his third-down attempts and threw just three touchdown passes and five interceptions on third down. He was much more effective on third down in Sunday’s 30-17 win over the Redskins. Wentz completed 9 of 11 third-down passes for 148 yards and two touchdowns. His third-down passer rating Sunday was 158.3. He averaged 13.4 yards per attempt on third down.

–The Eagles converted eight of 14 third-down opportunities against the Redskins. Eight of their third downs were eight yards or more. They converted four of them, including Wentz’s 58-yard first-quarter touchdown pass to Nelson Agholor on third-and-12. He also completed a 30-yard pass to Torrey Smith on third-and-10 and a 23-yard pass to tight end Zach Ertz on a third-and-10. Last year, the Eagles converted just 22.8 percent of their third downs of eight yards or more.

He is now stocked with reliable weapons.

That reliability is not just in the areas of knowing the route and catching the ball. His outside WRs fight for the ball as defenders when the pass is under-thrown.
