Comparison with DEs

Comp w/ "Edge defenders"

Those comparisons don't look impressive.

It is interesting to see the comparison with Dee Ford who some think the Eagles wanted when they settled for M Smith.

Really short arms but if I recall correctly Ray Diddy said he uses his hands well, I assumes to keep the OT from grabbing on. We'll see if he can do that to L OT's in the NFL.

He is 20, he had 33 sacks in his career at T, surpassing Reggie's record there.
29 of the 33 came in SEC games, always plays big in big games.
No injury issues, plays hard all the time, did I say he is 20?
Consider this, he will be practicing against Jason Peters and Lane Johnson...
this was a very smart pick that could yield big benefits for a decade...only 20?!?!

I've never put too much stock in "measurables."
I've always been more interested in what they've done in gametime.

Agreed. Good pick.

My wish list was topped w mccaffrey. But I'll take DB as a solid consolation prize.

The consensus view on Barnett is to ignore the measurables that tell you he can't get the job done and look at the game tape which tells you he does the job well.

I wanted McCaffrey but heard the Panthers were going to take him at 8 (which they did), Barnett was second on my list. We could still get Cook which would be ideal.
Joegrane
Yes and with Cook still available that makes Mixon even more likely to be available--if they want the PR nightmare. I might have done it if they had gotten their CB in round 1.
