Looks like a fun off season for them

Romo will clear a considerable amount of cap savings if he is designated a june 1st cut. They will still owe him 9 million against the 2018 cap but 2017's cap hit will only be 10 million. That clears 15 million for 2017 if my math is correct...then they restructure guys like Bryant which is assumed by their beat writer. They have 7 FA starters to sign or cut.

When is the last time they weren't in cap hell?

so if the cut him they only save $5mil and then have to pay a backup QB.

In the NBA teams make multi-team deals and essentially give away a pick in order to get cap space. I don't think that is often done in the NFL but it would make sense to do it in this case.

Exactly....if they cut him june 1st they take a 10 million cap hit in 2017 and another 9+million hit in 2018. That means they get over 14 million in cap space next year. If they trade him they don't get that relief.
