I hate to say it, but there are positions that are bigger needs than QB. We have no depth at LB other than Goode, and Hicks has injury concerns. I'm not sure they can afford to trade up. If Jack is there at 8 they take him. Is Lee worth that spot?

I was thinking along similar lines last night. I did this little exercise to crystalize what I see our needs as.

I took our starting 11 on defense plus our starting 11 on offense (assumed WR#3 plays more than TE #2 this year, and more than RB#2) and I added the first five guys off the bench and sorted them all from worst to best, to identify our needs:

Worst to Best, Our starting 22:

1. Algholar
2. Rowe
3. Bradham
4. Barbre/Gardner
5. Randle
6. Bradford
======================== = upgrade needed above this line
7. Curry
8. Kelce
9. Carroll
10.Kendricks
========================= Marginal starter above this, solid starter below this line
11.Logan
12.McLeod
13.Hicks
14.Barwin
15.Brooks
16.J. Matthews
17. R. Matthews
=============== Pro Bowl Potential below this line
18. Ertz
19. Johnson
20. Peters
21. Jenkins
22. Cox

First Five Off Bench
1. Huff
==================== needs immediate upgrade above this line
2. McKelvin
3. Celek
4. Graham
==================== serviceable above this line, excellent below it.
5. Sproles

In the early rounds, I go BPA at a loosely defined PON. After round three, strictly BPA.

1. You're tough on Bradford and Rowe.
2. Bradham is supposed to be a quality LB in Schwartz's system.
3. You're higher on Mathews and Brooks than I am.
4. You're pretty optimistic about Peters.

Saved me a lot of typing.

OK critic 1 and critic 2,

how about you do a similar ranking the way you guys see it with the border lines for upgrade, marginal starter, solid starter and pro bowl potential??

Not busting stones, just curious as to how you guys would look at it.

As far as Peters goes, even in a year where he struggled with injuries and didn't look his best at times, he was the Eagles highest rated OL.

Mine is strictly based on how they did last year. Not accounting for expected decline or improvement.

Critic 2 reporting as requested, but I'm factoring in how I expect players to produce this year because this is 2016. A couple get marked down until they show that 2015 was an aberration.

Upgrade needed - Barbre, Agholor, (Huff)
Marginal starter - Bradford (health), Mathews (health), Randle
Solid starter - Kelce (poor 2015), Peters (declining), Brooks, Matthews, (Sproles), Ertz, (Celek)
Potential Pro Bowler - Johnson

Upgrade needed - None
Marginal starter - Kendricks (poor 2015), Rowe (early days), Carroll, (McKelvin)
Solid starter - Graham, Barwin, (Curry), Logan, Hicks, Bradham, Jenkins, McLeod
Potential Pro Bowler - Cox

I'd add two more to the list as upgrades are needed for the first OL and LB off the bench.
