Like Schwartz as DC. Not sure about Reich at OC yet. Love they kept their special teams coordinator.

Who's the sports science guy?

While we need to tone it down, I still think it has a place.

I'd rather have Shurmer with some Chip philosophy carry forward, but if you're giving me Reich, I'd prefer him call the plays rather than Pederson learn at our expense.

I agree. I still believe Chip will change how people look at health and nutrition in the NFL. That part DOES work and I'm shocked the NFL hasn't looked to that years ago with all of the money at stake.

Interesting catch ... make any difference?

The biggest thing that sticks out to me is how many of these coaches are former NFL players.

Daniels – 15 years
Pederson – 14 years
Reich – 14 years
Hauck – 13 years
Staley – 10 years
Peelle – 10 years
Lewis – 8 years
Chung – 5 years

Compare that with Kelly’s staff. You had Duce and Peelle, That’s it. I’m not saying one is right and one is wrong. I just think it is interesting to see such a stark difference in the 2 groups.

Pederson might be new to being a head coach, but his staff has a ton of experience as players and/or coaches. These guys know the NFL.

Andy had Pederson call the plays in the second half so Andy could exclusively focus on time management in the second half biggrin.gif

Check out these videos, good stuff.

Pederson ...
He comes across better here than I thought he did in his presser. Chalk it up to nerves, newness, etc. I'll be interested to see how Reich fits into the plan ... Doug's offense, Doug calling plays.

Schwartz ...
I like this guy. He's not a wild man but runs a wild man defense. I like that he doesn't care about stats, assuming that means he's a results guy not a look-at-me guy. He knows a lot of the players, mentioning Graham and Thornton but I think he was Alonso's coach when he was Rookie of the Year too. Good signs.
