Will be interesting to see how he learns from his errors in Philly.

There's nowhere to go but up for SF, and he has a couple good young QB's to choose from. It's a good fit for him, as he'll also likely get the power he wants from that child Jed York.

It's no coincidence that he's back working with Gamble. It seems like that was the beginning of the end of his stint in Philly.

So, the 9ers fire a coach the players hated and have a one-year placeholder for a coach with no personal skills? Sounds solid. rolleyes.gif

the question for us is: Who does he try to take from Philly with him?

Howie drafted Marcus Smith. I still can't understand how you don't get that.

Coming from you, that's a great compliment. So, you think Geno Smith will be a starting QB in the NFL next year? laugh.gif

Kind of, yes.

1. I think Chip will learn from his mistakes in Philly to some extent.

2. He won't have the power to cause those mistakes to be so devastating. He won't be able to just release or trade someone. He'll be forced to try to get along.

3. Did the NFL essentially outlaw the Read Option during the Ravens preseason game when they reported that the hit on Bradford was legal?

Is that why Chip did not use the Read Option this year?

If so, Kaepernick will not be very useful to Chip unless he can make things happen on the Read-Option roll-out that Bradford used effectively. I don't recall that K. is thought of as an accurate passer.

Is SF still an old team? They won't like the pace Chip likes to use.

Eventually I think he'll be a successful coach.

No one talking about possibility that Chip cuts Colin Kaepernick & signs Bradford. Save money & get a guy he likes. Interesting possibility
