Even though the Eagles appeared to run the ball better against the Jets and Redskins, I thought those games were a bit of a false positive for the offensive line. In those games, the Eagles running backs, especially Sproles and Mathews, made defenders miss in the backfield. The Saints game was a different story. People were getting sick of the word "execution" but it really was the difference on Sunday along with some familiar wrinkles from Chip Kelly who I felt brought his best gameplan of the year.

If you haven't noticed by now, a big part of the Eagles passing philosophy on beating man coverage involves mesh concepts which often involve rubs or "natural" picks.

Bottom line, the coaches have been drawing up schemes that are getting the offense favorable looks especially against single high safety looks. The Eagles offense should be murdering this type of defense but instead they keep shooting themselves in the foot. Scheme vs. Execution you ask? It looks pretty clear to me when it comes to the passing game.
The question is, will the team (continue to?) improve as the season progresses. It's nice to hear that the problems are execution, but why? Aren't these guys studying? Agahlor is a rookie and his head must be swimming but Cooper's been around long enough to know. Bradford is getting back into it but the excuses are running slim. How does the execution improve?

They are trying to gel as a unit. We all likely underestimated how much time that would take.

The execution may just need time to improve. Andy's teams were consistently better later in the season and there wasn't nearly as much turnover on those rosters.
