The Eagles week off might be coming sooner than expected.

The team is scheduled to play the Washington Redskins this weekend at FedEx field, but the potential to Hurricane Joaquin to hit land on Sunday right as the game is set to kickoff is forcing the NFL to look into different options.

One option?

According to CBS Sports reporter Jason LaCanfora, the NFL has discussed the possibility of moving the game to Week 8, when both the Eagles and Redskins have their bye week.

The Week 8 matchup would take place on Nov. 1st.

The weather this Sunday in Greater Landover, MD, where FedEx Field is located, currently calls for rain with a high of 68 degrees, and wind topping out at 13 miles per hour.

If Hurricane Joaquin were to hit, however, winds could gust over 30 miles per hour with driving rain.

According to an earlier report from the Washington Post, the NFL have already started discussions with both the Eagles and Redskins on potential scheduling changes.
