I never knew that a grade of F- actually existed.

An F minus denotes not just that you failed miserably, but that you failed so spectacularly and completely that you need a special category created for you so that you don't insult other failures by being grouped with them.

Quote of the day by Ray Didinger on WIP a couple hours ago, when told that unless Smith turns into Lawrence Taylor, the 2014 draft was awful.

"He'll be Lawrence of Arabia before he's Lawrence Taylor."

Now that had me laughing.

The 2014 draft could turn out OK despite Smith. I already like Mathews and I think Huff can contribute if he can stop the bone headed things that happen around him.

Always the optimist, I still hold out hope that there will be a light that will go on for Smith. He has the requisite size and athleticism so I'm guessing he just doesn't get the mental part. Maybe there'll be some extra coaching in the off season.

I like Huff's potential and agree that if he can stop the stupids he can be a nice addition to the offense. IF those two come around and we can get something out of Watkins ...

On another, unrelated note I'd like to give kudos to a player that's truly earned my respect. Brent Celek has gone from an unknown 5th rounder to a serviceable TE and evolved into a very good all round unselfish offensive player for the Eagles. He seems the solid citizen, he's a reliable pass catcher, solid RAC, a good in-line blocker and a valued team leader.

Matthews was a bright spot of course. Sure Smith and Huff could become solid starters, I'm just not counting on it.
