Full Version: Why bring in a rookie kicker?

Henery is still below expectations.

Spears was the longest of long shots to make this team and it was obvious from day 1 he wasn't the guy.

Why a rookie?

Go out and get a veteran to come in and compete.

Akers, Boronus etc. Bring two in for a looksee and pick one to stay and compete.

What, if Henerey gets beat out, we will have egg on the face from cutting a 4th round pick?

Big deal. Has anyone seen 3rd rounder Marsh play? What about 1st rounder M. Smith?

It's not the end of the world when we cut Marsh and will not be if we axe Henerey because he was beaten out in real free competition in camp.

Bring them in and compete.

They released Fluellen and apparently Indy wanted him and thought another team might get to him before they had their chance. I'm guessing they called the Eagles before the release was official and offered the trade. Getting a rookie kicker is better than not getting anything, unlike releasing a pro bowl WR for nothing. unsure.gif

Roster cut downs will soon include vet kickers who have potential.

Agree with all of this. Just wanted to compliment you on the nice little Desean jab smile.gif
