Full Version: Because of Foles are you more willing to watch?

For me, I am. I want to see how another QB who may be able to read the coverage different and maybe get the ball out quicker will fare with the worst line ever in Eagles history.

Who knows, maybe for once they will call a balanced game out of survival mode, but I doubt it. The Skins defense is bad against the pass, so expect to see empty backfields and foles on his ass many times.

Chuck and Duck Baybee. Go down throwing Marty and Andy!!

I don't think he'll do great, but maybe a few better reads will make a difference.

My sons have already vowed a boycott to watching Sunday's game. They asy a win and it may result in a greater chance that Andy stays.

Sixteen and Fourteen and these kids are already boycotting!!

This generation could never have made it thru the early 70's and the 82-87 year and maybe not even the Rhodes last two years.

Instead, they will tune in to the NFL Redzone and watch the highlights of al the games.

Me, I'm a sucker and curious. Not eliminated yet.

No not more willing to watch. I would be just as interested if Vick was playing. I have been beaten down by this team and am firmly entrenched in indifference, apathy, resolve or whatever

Now when they play I watch but I don't get crazy with the good or the bad.

"Pass me the chips. Did he throw an INT? What kind of dip do we have?"

"Wow nice pass from Foles. Dammit are we out of mustard?"

This season is worse than I thought but since I didn't buy into all the offseason hype about how "talented" the team was I didn't have high hopes to begin with so I'm just in a holding pattern now. Show me something to excite me and that will change. Seeing if Foles can beat a putrid skinz team that ALWAYS loses at home and ALWAYS loses to rookie QBs ain't gonna get it done

Go birds

I would watch either way but having Foles in does raise my interest. With Vick I would just be waiting for the turnover. The only suspense would be how the turnuver occured. With Foles I will watch him make his mistakes and then see if he learns from them. Let's face it, he is going to make mistakes. We just need to see improvement. He has the tools.

I spent a large portion of the Cowboy game with my back to the tv surfing the web. Never in my life could I have imagined not being glued to the tv during an Eagles game, much less an Eagles-Cowboys game - even during the 3-13 season.

Nope.

Not interested.

Don't care.

Got better things to do.

But if it rains here in Florida and I'm hungry, I might (MIGHT, I SAY) head off to a sports bar.

Weather predictions are for sun and partly cloudy. So ... NOOOOO !

I'm sick of being sick about this bunch of losers.

I'll be watching either way, so the starting QB is irrelevant.

But I am looking forward to seeing what Foles can (and can't) do as opposed to being worried about Vick. Gods know we have enough other worries on this team.

I am so over the Mike Vick show that my level of interest was pretty much non existent. I couldn't stomach any more of that garbage. I'm looking forward to Sunday's game more than any other this season.

I'm more interested cause of Foles. Want to see if he's our future.

I was on a cruise the week of the Saints game and they werent showing the game in staterooms. it was on the casino TVs and sports bar. me and the wife went down early, got good seats in front of the TVs (the place was PACKED with birds fans by kickoff), ordered a couple beverages.....and left just before halftime

The thing is, i didnt leave the bar in disgust (although the wife was plenty pissed) i just decided that the hot tub would be more appealing. i admit to running back to check the score late in the 4th

their losses dont ruin my week anymore

Yup, an Eagles loss used to leave a sour taste in my mouth for 7 days. Now? I'm subconsciously rooting for it.

I could see Foles being the subject of more interest to Eagles fans.

Let's face it, Vick is not the future. So now it only makes sense to evaluate Foles and see if he is. And despite a few unfortunate plays last week, they looked like pretty typical rookie mistakes. On the other hand, he showed some good things as well. He gets the ball out faster, which in this division is a good thing. He seems to have good vision as well.

He made a few decisions that really worried me, namely the floater across his body in the middle of the field. In reality, he could've easily thrown 3 or 4 picks. I'm not gonna cut the guy over his first NFL appearance, but in this offense, with the problems we have, what I want to see most out of him is protecting the football.

I watch, and will continue to watch, every minute of every game regardless of who they have on the field. And yes, it has been very painful to do so for more than quite a few seasons in the decades prior to the Andy Reid regime.

With that said, I will definitely be interested in watching what Foles does this week after practicing with the first team all week. I am hoping to see better passing accuracy from him. I think the guy knows how to play, knows the system, and is poised, but that don't mean shit if you can't get the job done.

Time's yours Nick.

I'm always going to watch, but I'm certainly more excited to watch Foles play this weekend. We get to watch a guy taking his shot at making it in the NFL, as potentially the future of the franchise. He might step up, he might end up being terrible, but we still get to watch a guy go out there facing literally, the biggest opportunity of his life. We're out of the playoff hunt anyway so all we can really cling to is looking at our prospects for the future.

This is pretty much how I feel. I'm a fan and I'm going to watch even if they really suck. I may be a bit comotose, but I'm watching no matter how bad they are.
Rick
Not sure if I'll watch today. My son has baseball practice at 1 anyway so I'll probably go help out with that.

Would much rather see my son--and a bunch of other kids--who wants to actually play and play hard than this horrible, "team," they call the Philadelphia Eagles.

What kills me is they still have a chance. Only 2 of their last 7 games are against a team with a .500+ record.

:::sigh:::

Some small consolation for the next two weeks.

Because the Panthers game doesn't kick off until 1:30am and the Cowboys game 1:20am, I'll watch them the next evening on Game Pass using the quick option so I will only need to suffer for 30 minutes or so rather than 3+ hours.
