For the dimwit brigade: we are now 10-1 when McCoy has at least 20 carries. And lo and behold, Vick didn't turn the ball over ONCE!!!!! Could it be, that Vick's performance is mysteriously tied to everyone on defense either knowing or not knowing what's coming?!?!? Or that aside, is it possible that utilizing our 2,000 yard back indeed pays dividends?

I'm feeling a 50-pass game next week naturally. But in any case, as the same old arguments surface, this is yet another example of how to beat good teams.

P.S. I'm not sure Reid understands how lucky he is the 2nd field goal was short - in order for him to leave the field with his life, Dawkins would've had to escort him out just to discourage the bloodthirsty mob.

This is one of those traditional chicken and egg discussions. You really have to watch the individual games to really know. Oftern times teams get out to a big lead then start running to chew up the clock. When you look at the stats at the end of the game it appears that running the ball won the game when in fact, the game was already won before the running began.

With that said, that is not what happened last night. Reid started leaning on McCoy early in the 3rd quarter and only had a slim lead at that point. Big props to Reid on this because it kept Eli off the field. From the end of the 2nd quarter right through the end of the game Eli was moving the ball with ease. That good for that boneheaded pick he threw in the end zone. I have no doubt in my mind that if Reid stuck with his pass happy philosophy the Giants would have pulled out that game last night. So again props to Reid and also to the players who executed the plays.

And once again, this is where Reid fellatio borders on dementia.

We are now 10-1 when McCoy gets 20 carries.

And if you think the game was won at any point before the last second ticked, you are simply delusional.

I don't know what you read but I stated pretty damn clearly that Reid deserves credit for going to McCoy early in the 3rd quarter when the outcome was very much in doubt.

Why do I always get into defending myself against opinions I never expressed? It must be my writing skills because it happens far too often on this board. Then again, it only happens on this board so I am really perplexed.

I think ya'll should run more too.

But, with that out of the way, when I see a stat like the 20-1 figure you just mentioned I have to ask myself how many of those were situations where the running number got inflated because the Eagles were ahead anyways and trying to use up the clock in fourth quarter.

Of course they are. Unfortunately, no one ever taught HoP about variables. I'm sure you could find a similar stat related to Vick turnovers, or offensive line penalties (resulting in longer 2nd and 3rd down attempts, thus requiring us to pass)

How about that?

Who woulda thunk it?

My only gripe is that I think there needs to be better continuity of play calling.

For instance, when you're churning up yards on the ground, and the S are creeping up, use a real play action pass and throw the ball down the seam. By real, I mean stick the ball into the RB gut and pull it out. If you watch their play actions, the ball and the RB are about three yards away from each other. Peewee football teams do better ball fakes.

Also, that one goal line series, not the last one, where McCoy didn't make it in after a few times running right, I think there's a great option they're not using. After running Shady that way once (we loaded up the right side of the line) or definitely after the second time that way, call the same strong right formation and have Shady go that way, but fake the handoff and have the lefthanded Vick bootleg to the left and bring a TE and WR across the front and back of the end zone from the other side. It will work every time, most times Vick scores untouched. They did something similar late in the game when they settled for a FG, but they had the left side be the strong side and Vick ran right into it and had to slide down. Run that same play but put the WR's (and defenders) on the right, ball fake and bootleg with pass option coming across the end zone and we got six points.

Other than that, great balance, great result.

Also, it allowed the OL to improve and allowed Vick to stay alive.

And you accused me of being condescending to HOP? Please note CT that HOP, and several other posters, tend to attack when you don't blithely agree with their POV.

To freshen your obviously fading memory, people tend to attack you when you suggest one of their heroes is Joseph Goebbels.

My apologies, I skimmed your post and did not read it thoroughly. I see what you meant now.

No problem HOP. I went through this last week and I was seriously evaluating wether or not I was just failing to communicate my opinions clearly. I probably should not have used the word "damn" in any event so my apologies for that.

The point of my post was not to accuse you of being condescending though I can see how easily my post could be taken that way. I just found it amusing how you were accusing people of behaving, in my humble oponion, the same way you were. Note I did not throw any direct or implied insults your way because I truly did not wish to nor do I hold a negative opinion of you. I did not even bother to follow up on any of the posts because I tend to stay away from political topics these days. I apologize if my comment insulted you, it was not meant as an insult.
