Bah, I dunno what any of that means. But I think he'll be long gone by the time we pick in the first.

Cuz,
You're a sick pup!!
You bet with the book on the draft???
The only betting I do on it is at the draft party when we predict time of pick, postion or player just to add some spice to watching it.
Glad there's a sicker puppy in the litter around here!!

If you "win" a negative amount, isn't that the same as losing money?

Hence, the joke.

Ah - makes sense now. I can never get the hang of how Americans bet with this -135 or +160 stuff.
Over here you'd get offered odds of say 5-1 where you get back your stake plus five times the stake as winnings. Or 4-6 where it's the stake plus 4/6s as winnings.

Are you referring to point spreads? Like Eagles vs Dallas and the spread is Eagles -35?

I can handle that, just means that it's evens we'll win by more or less than 35 points (bookies obviously love the Dallas draft).
It's the references above to +160 or -135 I don't get.

+160 would be you would win $160 on a $100 bet (total $260)
-135 would mean you need to bet $135 to win $100 (total $235)
example
two people bet the same game, $100 on a game that has the home team favored -150
the bettor on the home team if the home team wins (-150) will take $175
the bettor on the away team if the away team wins (+150) will take $250

Not sure how sick it is placing a bet at better than even odds on the guy who gets selected 1st overall to get drafted higher than the guy who gets drafted 25th overall.
I look at it as getting paid for paying attention.
