Allright people.

The GMs are calling for Foles.

What's your price?

1st question is they are calling now, and you are don't know when Wentz will be back as the old Wentz.

2nd question is in the middle of August and Wentz looks like the old Wentz.

Just pick the minimum it would take and assume all choices are realistic.

Also, there are only draft pick trades available. No player trades considered.

I opted for two thirds both times.

In the spring, we need two picks for the 2018 draft. Rookies are a lot cheaper than veterans. A second and fourth would be even better, but two thirds is my minimum.

In the autumn we'd have to wait until 2019 to use the picks but against that we have less need for Foles because Wentz is healthy. If Wentz will miss a month or two then Foles' price goes up sharply.

Of the four who have played so far, I opted for the highest compensation right now and the lowest compensation in August.

My reasoning is this.

We were originally given a timetable 9-12 months. And this was before knowledge of the secondary damage was known. Although that is not supposed to be a big extension of recovery time, it surely doesn't shorten it.

Nine months is first week September.

Twelve months is first week December

Halfway is mid October.

And, there is likely a difference between the time he hits the field and the time he is the old Carson. IF he ever is the old Carson this year. So much of his game is extending plays with his escapability. Not sure how much you can regain of that immediately. I'm thinking not much. So the halfway point is him missing six games AND needing time after that to be the real Carson. Add into it where we are on the chance to be a contender again, and to me, it's a no brainer, I do everything to keep Foles unless I get knocked out with an offer and to me, that is a 1st and 2nd.

If it's mid August and we know Carson is likely ready to play close to the old Carson by the opener (highly unlikely IMO), then we are guarding against him having a setback or another injury which has happened three years out of four, and I still need two mid round picks to assume that risk, and I chose a 3rd and 4th. There is a case to be made that we need more than that to cover the risk of another injury after he hits the field given his style of play, but I went with those two picks.

I voted 2nd & 4th now, 2nd & 3rd later.

Obviously the draft slot will make a difference--Cleveland vs Cardinals vs Buffalo. Cardinals makes the most sense.

I want do do the deal sooner because I want the picks this year when we don't have a 2nd or 3rd rounder.

Eagles basically have to do the trade due to the cap situation, also probably because Nick will want it and they don't want to disrespect him. That might cost them some compensation. They might have to kick in a mid-late round pick to sweeten the deal.

You need more compensation if trading after the draft because the picks are for 2019. However by then you get some assurance about CW's return.

I think they like Sudfeld enough to roll the dice with him and trade Nick before the draft.

If you don't trade Nick, who do you cut to get under the cap?

Only one of our GMs out of nine would have taken the deal of a second rounder for Nick.
