I think 2 of the most obvious moves will be cutting Torrey Smith and Trading Foles. For those that feel Foles needs to be kept on in case Wentz is not ready you need to realize that Foles has leverage. This is his chance to get big QB money and likely his last chance. If he is traded he can demand a new contract and that means 20-30 million guaranteed so don't expect him to "aw, geez, shucks" his way past that. His agents won't and shouldn't allow it. He is already making comments that roughly allude to that path. Those 2 moves free up a good chunk of space without hurting the team very much.

Nice to hear from you, RF. I hope you are okay.

I agree with you but that only gets you under the cap by a couple mil. That does not get you Bradham signed or extensions for young guys--Darby, Agholor, etc unless Howie is willing to really kick the can down the road regarding cap hits.

Every sports writer I've come across thinks Burton is going to get a big payday elsewhere. Cutting Celek would save almost 4mil$. They are not going into the season with two rookie TEs. They'll need to sign one veteran.

Extending Graham can be a way to help the 2018 cap but I don't know they will come to agreement. I really like him but his numbers are likely inflated due to the presence of Cox.

Those will just be the first easy moves...then extensions will add more...they still won't have a lot of wiggle room once they sign Bradham and extend Graham.

They'll extend as many guys that they can of course. There won't be any FAs coming in, that's for sure. I think Howie can extend some of the younger guys once the season starts in September (?) like Aggie and Darby. I'm sure Howie has a five year plan for this stuff. I know that team chemistry is of the utmost importance but we still need to infuse some new blood. I think that Nick will have to move on and Sudfeld will be the backup. That was the plan until Wentz got hurt anyway. Of course that pesky Super Bowl muddied the water a little bit. cool.gif
