And we don't have a QB problem.

However, our DC better figure it the fuck out.

Nice job by Foles and great job by the ST's.

And we have a first round bye.

I'll take it.

This was like a throwback game to our 2015 secondary. We got the win and Foles looked very good, so if they're going to get a wake-up call it might as well be today. They got beat several times deep and couldn't tackle to save their lives, but the rest of the D looked fine as always.

Can't ask for much more from Foles. If you get 4 TDs out of your backup you're doing fine.

The defense on the other hand... what a clusterfuck

Special shout out to Ronald Darby for getting burnt all night

Ummmm yeah, they 'happen' whenenever secondaries forget how to cover and tackle.

Meanwhile, 34-0 Rams over Seattle in Seattle - at the half!

You got that right. This team won't last a minute in the playoffs if the D continues to play like that. This wasn't the fault of the DC, this was on the players not executing properly. It's as if they completely forgot how to tackle, for at least a couple of weeks now.

D is awful & has been steadily going down hill since Darby's return. Why? Love to know.

Great job by Foles but we won't be winning shit unless someone figure's out wtf is going on with the defence. No pressure, got a couple more games to work on it...

Sorry but there was a lot of blame on the defensive coaching. The past 2 weeks at least they've tackled poorly. That's definitely partially coaching.

They need to get their act together or they'll have a short playoff run...

Our whole secondary has Michael Lewis Syndrome. What is that, you ask? It's when you get burned on double moves because you're watching the QB and not your man, you take poor angles to try and make a play and most importantly, it's when you have a chance to make a play you go for the highlight reel hit (and whiff) instead of just wrapping your guy up and taking him to the ground.

They were set up by the slants.

Completely wiffing on tackles isn't on the coach. Allowing them to do it repeatedly and letting them stay in the game is, however, and I have no doubt a couple of our DB's were talked to about that after the game.

If I recall this sloppiness started in the Bears game. Then they got chewed up by Russell Wilson...but everyone said it's Russell Wilson so no one bats so no one bats an eye at that. After that they get lit up by the Rams. But oh, it's the Rams and they have the best offense in the league! No cause for alarm there. And now comes Eli and the 30th ranked offense in the league playing rookies and 2nd stringers due to all their injuries. And our defense gets lit up again!! Does this look like a trend to anyone but me?

I don't know how much of it is coaching and how much is on the players but it's gonna be a really short post season if they don't get it fixed.

I think our front 7 has covered up for the secondary this entire year, and it can't last forever. Also, Darby has only been playing for a month - he shows flashes of greatness, and then follows it up by getting burned worse than Asomugha. Yesterday I was reminded of Jurevicius running 70 yards against us because of shitty tackling as well.

Who woulda thunk that one week after the MVP went down, our big worry is the defense?

I think not having a plan to force incompletions on those short slants IS coaching.

I worry to think what a real QB with real WR and RB will do to us. Our offense will need to put up 40 just to make a game of it!

Any team that uses any other offensive scheme against us just isnt doing their homework.

I wonder if some of the guys on the DLine are nicked up and so they knew the secondary would not get the typical help from the pass rush?

No, the dog in my picture is Molly. She was my first dog, loved the snow and was a devout Eagles fan. Unfortunately she's not with us anymore.

I have two dogs now - Carrie and Casey. Both are rescues and both are beagles as well. Casey is from North Carolina. He looks more like the dog in the commercial and he actually will sit on the couch and watch the game in spurts with me.

Carrie is my little one and she's from Alabama. I tried converting her to being an Eagles fan but it did not go well.

I'd like to see some different blitzing packages, Schwartz can be stubborn sometimes. What you said is exactly why I don't want to play the Saints or the Pats. Otherwise we should be fine.

people forget way too much as the season goes on....only three teams have amassed over 400 yds against this team...the Giants twice and the Chargers. Much of the failings of the defense have been bad field position they were put in by the offense among other things. The Giants did the same thing in the first game and not many other teams copied them. The Seahawks won largely of the improvisation of Wilson. Hard to prepare for that. They handled Cousins and Newton. They have played some good QBs. Manning, Cousins, Wilson, Rivers and Smith are all ranked in the top 10 and the only one who torched them was Manning.

It is not so much that they are scheming poorly, they are not executing. As Schwartz has said and it is apparent when you watch them, they don't make a lot of changes, they just play better to win the games at the end. That is on the players.

And they executed poorly against Chicago in the 2nd half. At some point, the coaches bear responsibility for the players not executing. Poor tackling is partially a coaching thing. If they're doing it for an extended period--like they are now--coaches need to light a fire under their asses.

If it were as much on the players as some people seem to think there would be little need for coaches since, well, the players have to execute and they should know what to do, right?

Against Chicago? The bears scored 3 points. Bad example. It is tough to drag young players through this stretch when you are winning so much because it is their tendency to think they are supposed to win because you are having so much success. That is the challenge of coaching. The fact that they have won most of these games is a result of good coaching to overcome that.

Yes, they only scored 3 points but like you--and others around here point out--cherry-picking stats doesn't tell the whole story. They tackled porrly against a REALLY bad team. They got away with it. They tackled poorly against a really GOOD team in LA and, well, how many points did they give up?

Then they tackled poorly against another bad team--the Giants--and, again, how many points did they give up?

If it were a game, I'd not be worried, it's been the past 2.5 games now. That is a trend and has me worried until they fix it.
