Using data from 2000 to date, there were 100 games where a team was 13 or more point favorites.

85% of them won the game.

Only 30% of them covered the spread.

The 30% doesn't surprise me.

Only 85% win % does. I was thinking 93% range.

However, this year dogs of 13 or more are 2-2 straight up and 3-1 to the spread ohmy.gif

I'd be surprised if the Eagles cover, especially with the loss of JP and Hicks and with the weather forecast. They are due for an emotional let down after the last two games.

However, my impression is that a few of the matchups favor the Eagles.

Do the niners have the WRs and QB to exploit the weaknesses at CB?

Do the Niners have a pass-catching RB who can exploit the weakness at MLB on 1st and 2nd down?

No team has kept the Eagles under 20 pts in quite a while. I don't expect SF to do it, even with some help from Mother Nature.

SF has only averaged 17pts per game.

Supposedly their O Line is banged up. That's bad for a veteran QB as Cam N showed, let alone a rookie.

Turnover differential: Eagles: top 10, SF bottom 10

Not expecting any 50 Yd field goal attempts in the pouring rain--advantage SF.

I'm always wary when there is such a large spread and slightly surprised when we cover.

That said, even with our key injuries and the equalising effect of the weather, I still expect a win.

Tough game to call with the weather prediction. Hard, driving rain is the great equalizer. Hopefully, the Eagles can continue their success with running the ball and their success with stopping the run. Passing will be a challenge tomorrow.

Will be a good test for Wentz handling the ball in crappy conditions though.

I jumped full on to the Wentz bandwagon. Got my Wentz jersey delivered to my house while I was up there for the game on Monday night. So breaking it in while watching the game tomorrow.
