Just curious after the last season and almost halfway through this one if people think we've found our next tenured coach or not. Please elaborate on your choice below and share with us your reasons.

He's made some questionable decisions, but what coach doesn't? Even the acknowledged great one's will have a head scratcher now and then, but because they're recognized it's passed over. Pederson seems to be pushing all the right buttons with this team, he has them prepared and they're playing hard for him. It's till a work in progress, so we don't know how he'll end up, but this year looks like he's a keeper.

I didn’t vote. I didn’t agree with any of the choices.

We started hot last season too, but faded.

I’m cautiously optimistic at this point. Last night was a huge win, to overcome a short week, on the road, with clearly biased officiating... it was perhaps their best win under Dug.

CHeck back after the bye...

Should be another option. He's improved (overall) but still makes me scratch my head.

He FINALLY runs the damn ball, we LOVE it. Then, in a PERFECT playaction situation, he either doesn't run a playaction or runs it from shotgun. :::facepalm:::

Last night, he needs to run the clock, he's had success running the ball, what does he do? Pass. WTF???

As I said, he's definitely better than he was but he still just doesn't seem to get it at times. If he keeps improving, I guess I can't complain too much, so time will tell....

I don't really know how much of the success is his and how much of it is due to the good work of the other coaches.

It seems the players are at least okay with him. He does not seem to be messing up the work of others.

If he--and his coaching staff--get coach of the year, he is likely to be here for a while. The exception might be if he looses both coordinators and the team falls apart. That will suggest that he was less responsible for the success than many thought. Even then, a former coach of the year with a franchise QB and one or more Pro Bowl players on D should be able to attract quality replacement coordinators.

Even if his supporting cast is a big reason why they are doing well, wouldn't that be props to doug anyway? Remember it's not his first year, I'm sure he's had some say in the matter after last year.

Personally I'm good with pedey so far, I've seen his blunders and I'm okay with them because as far as we've seen- he's learned from them.

You can also tell that he's got the locker room behind him.

He's only six games into his second season, so it's too early to make a realistic judgement beyond stating that he is not out of his depth.

The keys for me will be continual improvement and a willingness to learn from his mistakes.

I was not thrilled when we hired him.

I thought there were others more qualified.

However, from day one, I have been impressed with his candor and calm demeanor in a storm and how this team plays hard for him on a consistent basis. He is comfortable in his own skin. He seems to have the right character on this team. I like the fact that he changes and self evaluates and will change, whether by outside or inside influence. To me that is important.

I give him a solid B+.

Being successful due to the actions and merits of those under you is pretty much the definition of leadership. Good job, Doug! Keep it up!

Also, keep up the gutsy calls. I know that everybody yells when it doesn't work, and nobody remembers when they do.

I remember, Doug. I remember.

I also didn't see anyone mention the state of the team he inherited from the smoothie truck. The team was stripped down and beaten up emotionally from an overbearing egotistic know-it-all.

Pedey seems humble and willing to listen, learn and adapt to his players strengths, not tell his players what their strengths should be.

Apparently he remembers too, because we haven't had any retarded 4th down attempts in the last 3 games. A true sign of development and evolving as a coach. Keep it up Doug!

We had a bunch of "retarded 4th down attempts" in the first 3? He's 4 for 5 on the season. I'll take that till the end of football, please and thank you.

It's that whole "emotional intelligence" Jeff referred to in his interview after firing ol' Chip.

I think having Carson Wentz as your QB instead of Nick Foles, Mark Sanchez and Sam Bradford has more to do with coaching football than either of them.

A point I think about whenever excessive praise is handed to Belichick, McCarthy and some other coaches. Not to take away from them as coaches, but when you have the players, especially the QB, it does wonders for the resume. Without some of the amazing plays Wentz has made, Pederson probably looks like what we thought he would be when he was hired. Coach and QB are an important team.

If Wentz wasn't completing an other worldly amount of third down passes, how much praise would Doug be getting right now? I suspect not nearly as much.

Without the appropriate coaching, a budding star can easily flame out. It's easy to forget, because of how great he turned out, but Brady wasn't the lynchpin for NE in their first couple of championships. IMO, Belichick understood what he had in Brady and chose to develop him methodically. Otherwise, Brady could have simply turned into another late round trivia question.

Knowing how to massage the egos of 53+ players is the cornerstone of a team's success.

The sample size of NFL coaches having success with multiple QBs is pretty small, which leads me to believe it's typically the QB boosting up the coach and not the other way around.

I think Chipper was 100% IQ based coaching, we can argue how much IQ he actually had but he coached as if he was the smartest man in football.

Pedey has the Football IQ to adapt from mistakes but his biggest asset is his football EQ, he's in touch with himself and his players. It seems like he understands the value of his players and coaches and gives them the emotional support they need to have confidence in what their doing on and off the field.

I think in a city like philly, having the right amount of EQ and even an appropriate lack of IQ is the key to winning the support of the fans and his players. We here in philly appreciate a genuine human being, acting snobby like chip did earned him a ticket to the west coast.
