It's like combat experiences, they haunt you for the rest of your life. My dear lady and I played golf and then went to dinner with very good friends yesterday. When unexpectedly a related question came up I had to come out to them about my childhood. I ended up blubbering and teary eyed as the pain and shame once more rushed back.
