John Marzano, of Phila Central High, Temple University and then various major league teams died of an apparent heart attack in South Philly today at the age of 45.

I played against John in college for a few years and his talent was obvious and even though he played for a hated rival he was always class.

His work on WIP and Comcast in a strange way made me proud of his success. He seemed like a great guy on the broadcasts and always talked of his family.

RIP John!

This is a shock! Marz was great on the radio. Terrific insight into the game and a natural delivery that made listening to him comfortable. I feel for his family, that's way too young to leave.
