Eagles Forum _ Philadelphia Eagles or Football Related Discussion _ A little help requested: Formal vs informal meeting

I see that Tyrell Crosby was first reported as having an "informal" meeting with the Eagles which was later changed to a "Formal" meeting.

What is the significance?

Presumably each team has a limited number of "formal" meetings so this would be one of them.

Quite what the difference is (eg time spent) I have no idea.

My guess is that an informal meeting is not scheduled or prearranged. Maybe just talking like someone may do at a professional get together ... like networking. I'd also think that a formal meeting would be in private with prearranged Q&A from several personnel people and coaches. Probably on record with the league.

Just my guess.
