Burton has denied this report.

Seeing as though he turned down a 2 year contract last year I can't see him staying around. You could justify a high or low offer for him. I'm sure he'll hit the market and teams always see to overpay free agents.

I doubt the Eagles will be able to keep him on the team. Hey, it's inevitable.

Mikey's should be excited with all of the Comp Picks we should receive this year! That man loves him some draft picks!

I'm not sure what he's looking for, but if he won't take 2nd string TE money, then fuck him. Go to the Bears and win 6 games next season while we defend a title.

If we project that he gets increased snaps up to and slightly above Celeks snaps last year, I wonder how much above other team's 2nd TE snaps that is. My thinking is quite a bit. Based on expected performance, I think we could justify a low starting TE compensation. Not sure if that'll do it, but his value to us is above a normal back up TE.

Celek was on the field for over 40% of offensive snaps, but mostly for blocking, he only had a few receptions. Whatever, like I said I'm a fan of his, but if he tries to play any hard ball fuck him.

Just to remove any doubt that he's gone:

Ian Rapoport

@RapSheet
With the #Eagles stocked at TE and dealing with cap considerations, free agent Trey Burton is expected to leave Philly. He had 16 teams check in on his status this week, and he’ll have a strong market.
