http://www.wingheads.com/index.php?showtopic=85275&hl= I thought 9 wins but guessed 11. At mid season we're 2 wins away from what I thought was reasonable, but I never thought we'd be here after losing our best RB, our best LB, our kicker and our best ST. It sure looks like there's another 2 wins on the table and 4 more isn't unreasonable. The thing that kicks me is that there's reasonable hope for more than 4 more wins after losing at least two players most would think we couldn't afford to lose. The way the team is playing and winning is the nice part. They've got heart and they're playing aggressive, tough football ... Philly Phootball! biggrin.gif

Optimystic but conservative, my guess is 12 - 4.

I am.

I figured around 8-8.

However, I am not counting those chickens yet. I still remember the collapse 1994.

Funny you should mention 1994, because I was thinking the same thing until I heard something Didinger said on a recent post game show. It was Kotite's last year and Lurie's first, and after they reached 7-2 Ray said he went back to the office (he was still writing for the Daily News then) to write his article. Another reporter came up to him and said something like, 'How about them Eagles...7-2!' To that Didinger answered, "Yeah, but they won't win another game." He then went on to say that the team never felt legitimate and he rightfully suspected they would falter down the stretch. Then he says that this team looks nothing like that team, that the way they are playing and winning in every phase of the game speaks of a team getting better, not one like '94 that felt like it was about to unravel, which it did.

On that note 4-4 in the last 8 leaves us at 11-5, so barring any further major injuries, I would think that is the worst we will end up and 5-3 seems highly probable too.

I had estimated 9 Ws due to seemingly tough NFC East.

I expect the loss of Peters to have a noticeable effect on the offense. CW will no longer look immortal. Blount will not look impressive. Ajayi will help somewhat but it will take some time for him to fit in.

Having Kendricks really helps after the loss of Hicks.

Fortunately they are due to get Darby soon. I still expect S Jones to come back for a few games to add depth to the DBs.

I'm hopeful that CW can still improve his chemistry with Alshon and T Smith.

If they win one against Dallas, I think it is over. Either way it is really hard to imagine them not making the playoffs without a number of big injuries.

I'm not surprised at Wentz. He is who I thought he was, which was why I was really hoping we would get him back then.

I am surprised at your record because I thought you guys still needed to draft him a true stud wide receiver to reach this level of performance.

I'm not a huge fan of changing W-L predictions. If you're completely off, so be it.

I said 10-6 with a first round playoff loss. We should get more wins than that now, but what's changed most for me is I think we can play with anybody in the conference. Get those home playoff games.

I looked back at the predictions in Zero's link and have two comments.

One - my 11-5 is looking pessimistic.

Two - we have some excellent music taste on this board.

T Smith and A Jeffrey have been just enough to open opportunities for Ertz who was a 2nd rounder. Agholor, a former 1st rounder, has come out of nowhere, but this is what he should have been all along. The running game has been just enough to keep defenses off balance and CW has wheels when necessary.

Of course it all starts with a solid O Line as you know so well in Big D.

They have lots of pieces that fit well enough and they have good chemistry and leadership.

We'll see if that continues without the play and locker room presence of J Peters. When a 340lb future Hall of Famer speaks, people listen, probably even guys with some character issues--former Pro Bowl WR, 250lb RB with a ring, etc.

I had them at 5-3 at this point on their way to a 9-7 season.

They are two games better than I thought at this point.

From here on out, I originally had them going 4-4, with losses at DAL, SEA and NYG and a loss at home to OAk.

Now I figure 5-3 from here, the three losses being one vs DAL, @LAR, @ SEA.

12-4 should be enough to get us a 1st round bye and hopefully a #1 seed. Concern there would be if the losses are like I say, we would lose tiebreaker to both SEA and LAR, so that could jeopardize the #1 seed.

Fingers crossed.

I'm shocked, I had them (at best) 8-8 on the season. I mean, it's still possible but...
