Eagles Forum _ Philadelphia Eagles or Football Related Discussion _ The stats for this game don't look like a 13 point win

I was a little surprised.

By Averaging our D vs. SF O and SF D vs our O, you can get a feel for how the team's efficiency stats are.

Here are some key stats:

Team.......YPR.....YPP....PassRtg......Yds.....T/O/G
SF...........4.05....6.05.....79.5..... ..329......1.55
PHI.........4.10....7.50.....99.5........387......1.20

So based on the defense vs offense averages, we gain .05 yds per carry more than them, 1.45 yds per pass, a 20 PT better Passer Rating, we gain 58 more yards then them and they turn the ball over 0.35 times more a game than us.

I would have thought we'd have a better run advantage but not so.

Our advantage tomorrow is our QB and throwing the ball.

Not ideal in bad weather. That gives the Eagles less of an advantage than we would have had in decent weather.

we win, don't cover:

Eagles 24
49ers. 16

Anyone?

Btw, I think I would start the game in hurry up. It should wake up any Monday Night sleepovers and put the Niners on the ropes early on.

I like the idea of using the hurry up to start the game.

A fast start is always a good idea, but particularly so when facing a struggling team like the 49ers. Get 10 or 14 points ahead early and subconsciously they'll be thinking "he we go again".

Conversely, they will start to believe in themselves if there's only a FG in it either way midway through the third quarter.

And a follow up thought.

The rain will make it even harder for a team that falls behind to play catch up.
